Sometimes searching in newspapers is not so serendipitous. Offered without further comment, except to say that this Kirschstein is no relative of mine. From the Stevens Point Journal, (Stevens Point, Wisconsin), 25 Sep 1934, p. 3, via newspapers.com:

What we find in old online newspapers can make us think about this old world. I have been surprised sadden, informed and had a few good laughs reading them. I feel they are on equal footing with the census, and DNA in value for researching our family history.
